REAL-TIME IN-EAR TRANSLATORS
A
new article on “https://www.digitaltrends.com/” by Lulu Chang discussed
real- time in-ear translators. This ear-bud gadget helps you to communicate with
people who speak a foreign language. Communication barriers will disappear because
of this latest piece of technology. You may not know how to speak the foreign
language. However, it does not prevent your interaction with someone if you
have these useful ear translators.
This technology
makes life profoundly easier. All we need to have is two earphone translators
and one app to enable conversations in two different languages. This can be
clarified by some examples. Let us talk about travelers. I am a person
who is fond of travelling. As long as I have a budget, I can definitely visit
different countries around the world. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the
language barrier. I would like to go to China and see the Great Wall of China.
I think about what if I encounter people who do not speak English and how can I
possibly express myself or ask something. But then these ear translators truly
wipe away the questions in my mind. One of the things that I really admire
about this technology is the magic of translation. When you speak in your
language, the person who is having a conversation with you will hear the
translation of what you’re saying in their language and easily understand you.
Isn’t that awesome? We do not need to depend on dictionaries and try to make
sentences anymore. No more difficulties. Some people bring translators with
them wherever they go. It seems to me that they can handle conversations on
their own from now on. Moreover, using these ear buds is quite easy. Simply
pull them out of their charging case when you are meeting with someone who does
not speak the same language, and give one to your new friend. The ear buds will
automatically pair with an iOS app, and begin listening to your communication.
If you are speaking in French to an English speaker, your friend will hear your
French words in their native tongue. And when your friend replies in English,
you will hear said response in French.
Briefly we may
say that this real-time translation also allows for more natural interactions.
You will still be able to maintain eye contact, make gestures, and use other
non-verbal cues, all while understanding the other person in your own language.
For the time being, this technology supports six languages: Mandarin Chinese,
English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. More are said to be on the
way. If you want to take a look at their experimental
video, I put the link right here.
